ORDER OF MERIT
AN ORDER OF MERIT TABLE IS TO BE INTODUCED WHICH WILL BE BASED ON MEDAL AND STABLEFORD COMPETITIONS FROM APRIL TO OCTOBER 2015.
POINTS ARE BASED ON WHERE YOU ARE PLACED IN A COMPETITION IN RELATION TO THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE PLAYING.
E.G. IF 20 PEOPLE PLAYED IN A COMPETITION THE FIRST PLACED PERSON WOULD RECEIVE 20 POINTS AND THE LAST PLACED 1 POINT.
THE CLUB WILL PROVIDE A PRIZE FOR THE MEMBER WHO FINISHES TOP AND WE WILL ALSO TRY AND ARRANGE A MATCH AT THE END OF THE PERIOD WITH THE TOP 5/6 PLAYING THE STAFF.
FOLLOWING THE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP WE ARE GOING TO HOLD A COMPETITION EACH WEEK RATHER THAN EVERY OTHER WEEK.
COMPETITIONS FOR HONOURS BOARD STATUS WILL BE EITHER FIXED START OR ROLLING MEDALS.
ROLLING COMPETITIONS WILL RUN FROM THURSDAY TO MONDAY.
WE WILL INCLUDE SOME TEAM EVENTS DEPENDANT ON THE LEVEL OF INTEREST SHOWN.
CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP 2015:
Historically we have run the Club Championship over 2 days which has always been successful. However the Committee realise that there are Members who for many reasons are only able to play 18 holes.
This year to try to encourage as many Members as possible for this most important event of the Club Fixture List the intention is to try something different:
The proposal is for anyone who wishes to play 2 rounds of golf over 2 days to compete for the gross prize. Handicappers of approximately 15 and above will play just 18 holes on the Saturday to compete for the net prizes. The low handicappers will go out first on Saturday morning with the higher handicappers following behind. The Saturday round will be followed by a rolling buffet which the Club will provide for all Competitors. The Sunday round to decide the Club Champion will be played in the morning followed by a breakfast for Competitors which again the club will provide.
We really do hope that all Members will find this new format acceptable and support the event.
There is no intention of precluding anybody playing the gross competition over the 2 days. Indeed several Members have pointed out that in 2013 a Member with a 14 handicap won the Club Championship! We welcome anybody to participate who feels that they can compete for the Championship or indeed who wishes to have the experience of playing with lower handicap golfers or the experience of playing 36 holes. Of course, in the eventuality that you do not win the gross competition you may well still win the 18 hole net competition!
Please note however that you will only be eligible to win one prize!

IF YOUR HANDICAP IS OVER 15 & YOU WOULD LIKE TO PLAY ON BOTH DAYS PLEASE INDICATE BY TICKING THE APPROPRIATE BOX ON THE ENTRY SHEET.
The Handicap & Competition Secretaries will make up pairings and the tee times will be made available on the Monday before the event.
