Greenkeeping
The Greenkeepers would much appreciate it if you could please be particularly careful to repair divots and pitch marks which at this time of the year take a long time to recover.
Chilworth Members Open Day
We understand there was some confusion regarding our Open Day on Saturday the 18th of July 2026. To clarify, teams can either consist of all visitors, or two visitors and one existing member. This will be a Bowmaker format which is a stableford competition with the best 2 scores out of 3 being counted per hole.
Tea or coffee will be served on arrival and an ‘all you can eat’ cold buffet provided after the round is completed. At this time, prizes will also be distributed to the winning teams.
The cost will be £32.00 with full members paying £22.00. To sign-up, please speak to the counter staff who will provide you with a form to enter your team and make payment.
Ladies & Ambassadors Christmas Scramble
On the 1st of December we held our annual Ladies & Ambassadors Christmas Scramble. Despite the weather we had a great turnout. There were 11 teams of three members, each consisting with both members from our Ladies and Ambassadors sections.
It was a very close competition with the top three teams all finishing with the same score. The overall winners were Cathy Stringer, Nigel Smith and Richard Keith who won on countback.
After the round, members were served mince pies with tea and coffee whilst they took part in a Christmas quiz. The day was enjoyed by all despite the weather conditions!
Christmas Lunch
The Club Christmas Lunch is on the 5th of December if you have not put your name down for this please bear in mind that Charlies are doing Christmas lunches for small groups, so why not treat your friends and family.
Charity
As we close out the year, we begin to end our support for the Alzheimer’s Society. We have run several events this year to raise money for this cause. At the turn of the year, we will calculate the total and post this in the next newsletter.
As decided by our Ambassadors section, the charity we will be supporting in 2026 is Solent Dolphins. They are a Hythe based charity who take disabled people for a boat trip around the Solent and is run by volunteers.
The Fixture List
Upcoming Fixture List for January – please try to support these events even if the weather is not as we would wish!
